Angels Disappear

ANGELS DISAPPEAR - By Carroll Bryant

There’s a dark cloud hanging over head
It’s blocking out the light of the sun
When hearts break hard, it’s often said
Souls explode when the evening comes

And through it all, the ungodly mess
Is washed away by a river of tears
The hours pass in loneliness
When in the morning angels disappear

We take the precious things and we lay it to rest
The preciousness of love lays in with the dead
We always walk away when we need it the most
The preciousness of love is unveiled as a ghost

There’s a dark cloud hanging over head
It’s dropping the rain down on everyone
When hearts break hard, it’s often said
Only the fools turn around and run

And the world stands still in fretfulness
Watching as feelings cave into their fears
The answers come from outside a guess
When in the end angels disappear

We take the precious things and we leave them alone
The preciousness of love looking for a new home
We always blame the ones that we needed the most
The preciousness of love is itself just a ghost

And angels disappear
And angels disappear
The angels all disappear

There’s a dark cloud hanging over head
It’s blocking out the light of the sun
When hearts break hard, it’s often said
Souls explode when the evening comes

And through it all, the ungodly mess
Is washed away by a river of tears
The hours pass in loneliness
When in the morning angels disappear

We take the precious things and we lay it to rest
The preciousness of love lays in with the dead
We always walk away when we need it the most
The preciousness of love is unveiled as a ghost

And angels disappear
And angels disappear
The angels all disappear

  1. This poem made me think about what happened to my sister a couple of weeks ago (but I found out about it just a few days ago). When I heard what happened I immediately thought that some Guardian Angels were (are?) watching her. Thanks God. She's still alive and unharmed for some precious miracle.

    2. Thanks ;) The car is completely gone. We're amazed at how she and our dog got out of it with just some bruises. Thanks God.
