Fantasy Football 2017 Results
Another year, another Fantasy Football season comes and goes. I had a great year in 2016, getting all 16 teams into the playoffs in their leagues, and I did okay this year, too. I had 15 of my 16 teams make it to their league playoffs. Of those 15 teams, 8 made it to their league championship game. Of those 8 teams, 6 of them won their league.

Fantasy Football: 2017
And hello to everyone today. I just got done drafting my eleven teams this past weekend for fantasy football. As you may recall, last year was such a great season for me. I played 16 teams and all of them made their league playoffs. Thirteen of those teams went on to play in their league championship game and twelve of those teams won their league championship.
Do I expect to repeat that this year? No. I actually don't. And yet, I do. lol
What I mean is, in my heart, I always expect to win, but in reality, well, you know how it goes. You can't win all the time. It would be nice though to do as well again this year as last year. That would be nice. Anyhow, I played a record 16 teams last season and this season, I decided to just go with eleven. I was just going to play ten, but then I figured I wanted to play one of my new teams from last year and I decided on Dak Dynasty, seeing how I am a Dallas Cowboys fan and for as long as Dak Prescott is their quarterback, I will play the Dak Dynasty team. But once he is traded, resigns with another team or retires, I will retire the Dak Dynasty team.
Lets take a look at this years teams!
I always open every year of Fantasy Football with drafting Piketon first. They were the first team I ever played (2006). In my first year of playing FF, I played just one team to see how I was going to like it. Of course, I loved it and year two and beyond, I have played more teams in more leagues.
Piketon's career record is 80 -62-1. I have won three championships with them and lost a couple. Their playoff record is 8-3.
Chillicothe has a career record of 73 -64. I have played in four league championships with them, winning two, the last two years back to back in fact. Their playoff record is, 6 - 4.
Some people have asked why I name my teams after the cities and towns that I do. These are places I have been or lived and they hold a special place in my heart so I honor them in this way. The only teams I have played that I never lived or visited are Utah Cougars and London Tigers. (I played both last season). I played those two teams in honor a couple of friends of mine who live in or near those places.
Columbus has an amazing record of 81 wins- 41 defeats, and - 1 tie.
I have played in 4 league championship games over the years with the Bandits, but only winning one of them.
Their playoff record is, 5 wins and 5 losses.
The Kingston Kings are 85-31-1 in their career. I started them in 2008. They have been a kick-ass team in the regular season, but have only played in 3 league championships, winning one (2015).
They have qualified for the playoffs every year except one (2011).
Their post-season record is, 4 - 7.
The Scorpions sport a record of, 85 - 43 - 2.
They have played in 5 league championships over the years, winning 3 of them, including back to back championships the past two years.
With 8 playoff wins and 4 losses in their history, they are one of, if not the most, successful team I play.
Ohio Wildcats clock in with a record of 90 wins, 45 losses and 2 ties. They have won more regular season games total than any other team. They have also won 4 league championships in their history, which is tops among my teams. They have also played in more championship games than any of my other teams, (7). They also have more playoff wins, too (11).
I first played them in 2007, in Yahoo! leagues before moving them to ESPN in 2014.
Ross County is 85 - 48 - 3 in their history. They are 2 - 1 in league championship games. They sport a playoff record of 6 wins and 4 losses.
Roswell is 85 - 44 - 1 in their career. They have played in five championship games and won two of them. Their playoff record is, 7 wins and 6 defeats.
They're aliens. They're from outer-space. They are also one of the teams that won a championship last year.
The Santa Fe Eagles court a career record of 65 wins and 46 losses.
I did not play them in 2014 or 2015.
They have played in three championship games (including last season) and won two of them (including last season).
They are 5 - 3 in their playoff history.
Waverly is 61 - 34 in their history, which spans a mere seven years. In this time, they have accumulated 8 playoff wins and two losses. This includes 5 league championship appearances where they won three of them. The only two years they did not appear in the their league championships were 2012 and 2013. Both of those years they failed to make the playoffs. However, the other five years, they made the playoffs and went on to play in their league championship games. They are my most fickle team.
I started Dak Dynasty last year to honor Dak Prescott, the quarterback of my Dallas Cowboys. I had no idea that he would end up starting the year as the starter and would go on to QB the Cowboys into the playoffs. However, this team also did very well, going 9-4 in the regular season and 2 - 0 in the playoffs, winning their league championship game.
I hope for a repeat this year.
And there you go, the eleven teams I am playing this year in Fantasy Football. I can't wait for the season to start.

Fantasy Football 2016 Champs! Carroll Bryant
WHAT A SEASON IT HAS BEEN!
I posted earlier about how all 16 of my fantasy football teams made the playoffs in their respective leagues. None of my teams finished less than 3rd place in the regular season.
Well, 13 of those teams went on to play in their league championship game and 12 of those 13 won their league championship.
Let me say that again, but only with a lot more vinegar. Twelve of those thirteen teams WON! their league championship game!

I AM SPARTACUS
Anyhow, I have had the "dream" season in fantasy football. When you consider that the average player gets 30% to 40% of their teams into the playoffs, for me to get 100% of mine is mind blowing. Especially when you consider that the last two years I got 9 of 10 teams into the playoffs and the year before that, I got 9 of 12 teams into the playoffs, then you can see how I have hit "The Zone" when playing this game.
I am on fantasy football fire.
I am just going to sit back and enjoy this feeling. I am also contemplating if I want to play next year. You see, I am kind of bored with it now. lol It just doesn't get that much better than this.
While there are plenty of people, friends and strangers, handing out the compliments and insults, I just can't see how this game is challenging anymore. And believe it or not, winning has gotten a little bit stale. Especially when everyone was "coming for me" this season. They were trying to draft "my favorite players" in the draft, not realizing that I have a lot of favorite players. Ha-ha
I have draft plans, and then I have back up draft plans, and then I have back up draft plans to my back up draft plans. lol And yet, I still managed to manage my teams into the playoffs. There was also a lot more activity this season in the fight for free agents. On some of my teams I made more than 25 transactions and a few were in the 30's and a couple in the 40's. I had a lot of injuries again this year, as every year, and I had to fight like a dog to get quality replacements onto my teams, but I did it. I made it through the process and came out of it with 12 of 16 teams league champs.
And now below, are the snapshots of the champion banners.

Carroll Bryant Fantasy Football 2016 Regular Season Results
I call them the sweet sixteen. Sixteen teams I played this season in 2016 and I had perhaps the greatest regular season in fantasy football than anyone in the history of fantasy football. lol
I had a team start off winning its first ten games. (Tampa Bay Lightning) That is the most wins I have ever had by any one team to start a season. The previous record for me was 8.
I guess I better go ahead and say that all sixteen of my teams made it to their league playoffs. Eight of those teams finished first in their league. None of my teams finished below third place in their respective league. When the average person gets 30% of their teams into the playoffs, then 100% becomes a dream come true. And in fact, the previous two years I had played a total of 20 teams and got 18 of those teams into the playoffs, so I'm doing pretty good here the past few years. Even three years ago I got 9 of 12 teams into the playoffs.
I been kicking some booty.
I normally do not post the results of my season until after the playoffs are over, however, because I got everyone of my teams into the post season, I am doing this celebratory post to honor this amazing feat. I will begin with the 8 teams that finished first in their leagues. The team record can be seen in the upper right corner with their first place standing next to it in parenthesis.

And now I will display the second place teams.
And now, the third place teams.
(Keep in mind that the top 4 teams of every league makes the playoffs.)
And so there it is. My greatest fantasy football season in my 12 years of playing this game. My teams combined for a total record of 160 wins, 47 losses, and 1 tie.
In my final week of the regular season, all 16 teams won their games. In the previous week, 15 teams won their games. I doubt I could ever have two weeks as great as the last two weeks of the season. A combined 31-1 record to finish the year.
While the playoffs are set to begin, the next 2 weeks will decide how many of these 16 teams I can get into their league championship game. From there, it will take another 2 weeks before we know how many of my teams actually get to win their championship game. I will do a final post at that point.
Meanwhile, I have to wonder if I peaked at this game. I mean, it's not going to get much better than this. Maybe it's time to retire from it. Maybe take next year off or just go back to playing ten teams or maybe even dropping down to maybe 5 or 6 teams or something. I don't know. But I will admit that while it's been a somewhat exciting year of fantasy football, it also kind of felt like I'm losing interest. It did begin to feel like a "chore" to go in and set my lineups from week to week, deal with injuries and fight for free agents all season long as those injuries piled up from one game to the next.
I think I'm running out of steam. I'm also getting bored from watching any game that isn't Dallas Cowboys. Perhaps I should take at least a year off after this and see how I feel about it. I been playing for twelve years. Time to take a break. Besides, I think I want to take off next fall and travel the country for a few weeks or so. We'll see how it goes. For now, I have the playoffs to focus on.

Fantasy Football: The 2016 Fifteen
It's that time of year again where we look back at the NFL draft and look ahead to the new FF season. And what a draft it was too. I couldn't be happier about my Dallas Cowboys picking a BUCKEYE in the first round. I'm sure Elliott will do well for them. I was a little disappointed in my Tampa Bay Buccaneers though. I thought they should have taken WR Treadwell - after maybe trading down a little in the first round. Hargreaves is okay, but I felt there were just as good CB's in the later rounds and we really need someone to compliment Mike Evans.
Anyhow, I have completed drafting my fantasy football teams for this year and what a wild two days it was.
First, I discovered that ESPN has expanded their number of free teams you can play from 10 to 25. That's a lot of teams. For everyone who knows me, I only play ten teams. I used to play 12 teams back when I played on Yahoo! and CBS leagues. I quit though to focus on just one league and the league that won out was ESPN.
I consolidated my teams down from 12 to 10. (Yahoo! - 4, CBS - 3, and I played only 5 teams in ESPN before I dropped the other two leagues a few years ago.) But now, since the number of free teams have been greatly expanded, I decided to bring my other 2 teams from out of retirement and I decided to add 3 new teams to the mix. This year, I play 15 teams.
My primary teams are: 1) Piketon Red Streaks, 2) Chillicothe Paints, 3) Ohio Wildcats, 4) Waverly Thrashers, 5) Ross County Warriors, 6) Triple X, 7) New Mexico Scorpions, 8) Roswell Aliens, 9) Columbus Bandits, and 10) Kingston Kings.
The two teams I brought back from retirement are: 1) Santa Fe Eagles, and 2) Quebec Knights.
The three new teams I am adding for this year are: 1) Tampa Bay Lightning, 2) London Tigers, and 3) Utah Cougars.
I drafted my teams inside of two days and for the most part, I thought I did a pretty good job. For anyone keeping up, the past four years I have been on fire in FF. I have gotten 90 % of my teams in the playoffs and 75 % of those teams into the championship game of their respective leagues. I have won 16 championships over the past four years.
While I believe I have done another good job of drafting, I did want to talk about a few of my teams, starting with Piketon.
Piketon is my original team. They started out as the Pike City Pokes for a few years before I changed them to Piketon Red Streaks, which is the name of our high school team here. But my FF season kicks off with drafting this team first. I got some really solid players too and some amazing depth.
A lot of my teams have many of the same players on them but I do try to mix things up here and there. And every year I have my 3 - 5 players that I call my "golden boys". This year, it is QB Blake Bortles, and Derek Carr, RB's David Johnson, Thomas Rawls, and Jeremy Langford, and WR's A.J. Green, Jarvis Landry and Willie Snead. I also favored K's Justin Tucker, and the rookie, Roberto Aguayo from Buccaneers. My top D's for this year are, Cardinals, Texans, Bengals, and Jets.
Of course, the whole idea behind my strategy for drafting is getting value from each pick in each of the sixteens rounds.
Interestingly enough, my team, Waverly Thrashers, features the number 1 RB from last year, Devonta Freeman of the Falcons, and the number 6 and 7 ranked RB's from last season, Lamar Miller of the Dolphins (now with Texans) and David Johnson of the Cardinals, who was a rookie last year. So basically, I got in this draft of 2016, three of the top 7 RB's from 2015. Not too shabby.
Also a side note, my team Ohio Wildcats features the last two number one RB's in FF. last years number one, Devonta Freeman, and the 2014 number one RB, Le'Veon Bell of the Steelers. Le'Veon got hurt early in the season last year and missed the last 14 games. I am hoping he comes back at full strength and becomes the dominate RB he was two years ago, while pinning my hopes that Freeman repeats last season. If this works out, I could have one hell of a 1-2 punch in my backfield.
I can't wait for the season to begin even though last year, I was hit with more injuries than any season before. I hope for a bit easier road in 2016. And while last year was probably the best year I had in FF, I hope to repeat that great success this season.
Wish me luck!

2015 Fantasy Football Final Results (ESPN)
It was another good year for me in Fantasy Football as eight of my ten teams made it to the playoffs. Of those eight teams, five moved on to play in their league championship games. Of those five, all of them won their league championship game. This is the first time I had five teams win a championship in the same year. It breaks my four championships in one year set about six years ago.
Last year, despite having nine of my ten teams make the playoffs, and those nine also went on to play in their league championship games, only three teams actually won their championship game. For my first ten years playing Fantasy Football, I was always pretty good in regular season, and first round of playoffs but my win percentage goes from 80% down to about 10% when it comes to winning championship games. I am happy I was able to break that streak / curse this year.
The two teams that failed to make the playoffs this year were, Piketon Red Streaks (6-7) and Columbus Bandits (6-7). The three teams who made the playoffs, but lost in the first round were, Ross County Warriors (8-5), Roswell Aliens (10-3) and Triple X (8-5).

New Mexico Scorpions (10-3)
Kingston Kings (9-4)
Waverly Thrashers (9-4)
And now it's time to go through my Fantasy Football withdraws.
Looking forward to 2016 season already.
It's gonna be a long winter.
And spring.
And summer.

Never forget that Draft Kings and Fan Duel are NOT REAL FANTASY SPORTS. They are gambling. Thank you.
